SCALP by She The People, is the band's sophomore single taking a darker, grunge inspired approach for this sound.
Recording this track, the drums were very dry and punchy, Guitars gritty and full of distortion, and vocals in your face. The percussion in the bridge on this track creates a spatial escape for the listener, scratching their brain. This was a great place to layer in a tambourine and a guiro- which is something that doesn't often find itself in alternative rock. One of the most creative recording processes at Klockwise to date.
Mixing and production on this track was almost short film esque, adding train horns. There was lots of room for texture to create a landscape adding crunchy effects on vocals throughout, lots of whispering and different voices.
